the first case took like 6 hours and they talk like 600000000% too much. I'm sure it's a solid game, but I was pulling my hair out listening to the run-around for hours when the next conclusion was obvious. Kinda kills a lot of the snappy charm of the originals. I might give this another try someday when I have zen buddha patience for waffling.

★★★☆☆

Chuddy American take on a Studio Ghibli (actual peak) movie. Impressive, but crushed under the weight of it's own lore and spread too thin to deliver any real potent blow. I still had fun tho and it sucks I can't even say "oh it's just a kids movie" bc it's so obviously primed for the redditor "Yeah, that's DEFINITELY NOT a Kids movie hahahahahahahhah!"

✗ DNF

got like 4 bosses in. it's fun enough but some of the combat can feel tedious and nothing about it is particularly gripping me. p cute tho

Really interesting reading about the connection between Lebanon and Brazil. I didn't realize there were so much diaspora in both directions. Many influential Brazilian bossa nova/MPB records made their way to Lebanon and influenced the Arabic sound in a reallyyyyy cool way.

I had heard a ton of hype ab the new Fire Emblem game so I decided to go back and play the first North American port of the series (which is the 7th game in the series technically I guess? But it was released as just "Fire Emblem"). I like the formula and the classic fantasy style, but the story was bone-dry a lot of the time, and the perma-death combined with this being my first real tactical RPG made this ridiculously tedious at times. If I had to play this without the rewind feature built into the Switch 2 GBA emulator this might have been impossible for me. Still I can't deny when I did have a good strategy going and I was able to recruit some of the more interesting characters in the story and get them rolling I felt like a god. Also I played as Roy's dad. Roy from Smash. Now I officially know about Fire Emblem from Smash.

This could possibly be his best work yet, but 55 tracks and 2 hours of songs is just too much to sift through. There's a legit insane mixtape hiding in this tracklist, let's hope this isn't just carelessness and his new album justifies this dump of loosies (?)

This game took me like 95ish hours to beat, which is a really long time. Surprisingly it flew by, and I was shocked how much soying I did throughout. The game begins with roughly 10 hours of "tutroial" (with continuous new systems introduced and explained to you through most of the first half of the game) and presents as very handholdy and restrictive, especially compared to Persona 3 Reload (the only other Persona game I've played). In a way this kind of lulled me into thinking it was a baby game. I thought I could do whatever I wanted and coast through all of this game's content. After completing the game and failing to finish several of the social links (including 2 romances >_<) I realize just how cracked you have to play every single day to see everything. Not just that, but the order you build your social connections in informs a massively different experience. If I waited to do Ryuji's social link I probably would have exploded my switch into the wall while grinding through Mementos later in the game. The palace based progression and flashback interrogation with Sae make this game endlessly exciting and fulfilling (like lowk 1000x more narratively compelling than persona 3 reload even though that one has more fire vibes). The UI/UX is probably the most beautiful things to ever be created ever. The fight mechanics are continuously fun and the persona fusion mechanics allows for all kinds of autistic optimization asides. Persona 5 Royal is a massive feat and I played it for 95 hours and only felt like I was being held hostage once or twice. A must for any jrpg fan.

It's a somewhat messy anthology of tracks, but it's some of the most formative and impactful music of my entire life. I've obsessively revisited these songs for most of my sentient life. Every action I take is informed by the way this compilation makes me feel. A life and every feeling in it.

Deeply evil and resentful psychological warfare to the primarily middle school girl fanbase, as well as the girls in Katseye. It reflects in the members who are now dropping like flies because of how terribly dogshit everything about the music is. The Ed Sheeran written 'Animal' is one of the most intensely agonizing songs I've heard in a long time, yet it's the only song that I can seriously endorse for this group's current pop culture position and average age of obsessive fans. United States wins again as most evil oat.

Logging after beating the elite 4 / reaching "THE END", but I'll definitely mess around w/ the post game and try to do some of the cool missions I didn't finish throughout the game. This is the second game in the OG trilogy. 2 of the cases feel like total slop filler to make this a full game. The other 2 cases are some of the best in the series so far. 50% banger is better than nothing I guess. Franziska and Pearls are fun additions to the cast. I hate Oldbag more than anything if she shows up again in the next game I will kms. Also Gumshoe is my favorite I think. Everything I've seen online has said the 3rd game in this trilogy is the best so let's seeeeeeee.

Kind of an awesome step in her career considering the context of BRAT. Her Disco/ Dance-pop Dua Lipa-esque attempt to finally capture the mainstream pop audience she craved. It feels wrong for her, but she's so killer it's still a lot of fun. Of course once she embraced her sound and aesthetic she received her pop culture moment 10x over.
